Our Mission

The primary goal of Chesapeake Bay Ecological Foundation, Inc. is to educate the public and work with various State and Federal Agencies to provide current data on any relevant matters involving the quality of water and the living resources within and surrounding the Chesapeake Bay.
Atmospheric deposition of nitrogen is threatening the Bay’s health and is one of our main concerns since nitrogen levels are increasing throughout most of the rivers on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We have been asking state officials since 1985 to reduce power plant emissions in Maryland. A substantial reduction of atmospheric pollution would improve the water quality throughout the entire Chesapeake Bay.
